New Giant Crayfish Species (Barbicambarus simmonsi )

Scientists in Shoal Creek, Tennessee ,  just found new species: the Giant “Beard” Crayfish (Barbicambarus simmonsi ). The creature is almost 5 inches long, almost twice the size of typical crayfish found in the area. The new species is described in a paper in the Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington.
