New Giant Crayfish Species (Barbicambarus simmonsi )

Scientists in Shoal Creek, Tennessee ,  just found new species: the Giant “Beard” Crayfish (Barbicambarus simmonsi ). The creature is almost 5 inches long, almost twice the size of typical crayfish found in the area. The new species is described in a paper in the Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington. via NG

New species of crustacean discovered by some researchers at the Spanish Intitute of Oceanography. Found In The El Cachucho Marine Protected Area , Politolana sanchezi measures about two centimeters and lives in soft bottoms of the southern Bay of Biscay and western Galicia, between 480 and 829 meters depth. source
