Distribution :
Short description:Slightly convex dorsal profile. Short barbels: anterior not extending past anterior border of eye, posterior reaching anterior 1/2 of eye. Lines of cephalic pores well visible. Horizontal or slightly dipping lateral line. Light body, darker on back. Lateral line scales maybe bordered with black. Dorsal and caudal red-orange base, other fins without color. Black spot on 1st few rays at mid-height of dorsal fin, dorsal tip without color.
Biology :Affinities: belongs to ablabes group, distinguished from other West African Barbus by the dorsal fin spot. B. deserti (spot fully covering dorsal tip).
